About Us

We are the Anniemaniacs. You may have heard (of) us. We may have asked you for a practice race. We may have yelled our cheer loud into your ear. We may have danced and bumped life vests in the marshaling line. And this year, we may have gotten a medal...or two :)

Formed in 2002, the Maniacs have come a long way from six years ago, when we caterpillared and sported homemade tye-dyed shirts. This year: We rotate. We snap. And we have shiny blue shirts. You can't miss us on the water.

But some things haven't changed. We are still the same crazy bunch of maniacs who love paddling, racing, and having a blast. We still groan about sit-ups and practicing in the rain. And we will always promote happy hour, spamming people at work, and muscle photo shots.

2008 has been the most exciting year for the Maniacs: we raced against the big boy teams, took home hardware, and traveled to Canada (twice). But we're looking forward to end our season on our home turf: the Willamette. Cheer us on as we fight for another spot with the top teams, another medal, and hope that more people will soon have heard (of) us. When we say ANNIE, you say MANIACS!
